Main Event: The Crucible

Situational Overview

Each player will be controlling a randomly determined mech in order to prove themselves as a cunning and skilled pilot. They have to fight in an ever-shrinking arena determined by Demolisher tanks until the very end when it becomes a “free for all”.

7-12 Player Slots Available


Any player that kills an opposing mech will get the battle value of the dead mech plus 750 Victory Points. A 'Kill' is determined by the following:

  • The center torso internal structure or head internal structure is destroyed.
  • The mech suffers three engine critical hits or two gyro critical hits.
  • The pilot is killed through a cockpit critical hit, or through 6 pilot hits.
  • The mech is rendered battlefield ineffective through loss of one arm and one leg.

A player that loses their mech will get a negative score based on the mech's BV2 ranking. Once a player loses a mech, they will have to draw another card on the next turn and that mech will start at the edge of the hex field on the next turn.

Tanks cannot get credit for killing players, but that player will still lose points.

Any player ejecting from their mech will still lose points for leaving the mech.

If a unit is destroyed by something other than opposing player action (i.e.falling damage kills a pilot or triggers an ammunition explosion), that destroyed unit will be awarded to the player.

Special Rules

We will be using the Total Warfare rules for this game with the following exceptions:

Initiative: For faster play, we will use playing cards to determine initiative. The card represents the mech that moves in the round.

Critical Hits: 'Floating' Possible Critical Hits will be used in this game (See Tactical Operations book for details).

Rough Hexes: Any mech destroyed weighing at 40 tons or higher will create a Rough Hex area (see Tactical Operations book for details).
